International financial centres are places of concentration of banks, specialized financial institutions which perform foreign currency lending and international financial transactions with securities and precious metals. They have become points of support of financial globalization process, ensuring the normal circulation of international financial flows, and the link between local and international financial markets. This article examines the essence, the types and importance of specific territorial formations.
